Dr. Vinod Anavrat

Senior Scientist (Agriculture Extension)

Dr. Vinod Anavrat obtained B.Sc. (Agriculture) from College of Agriculture Nagpur.During M.Sc., he got first rank in the University (P.K.V.Akola) in 1992 and was also awarded Mahatma Phule Gold Medal. For securing highest marks in Agricultural Extension he was awarded the Nagpur Agriculture College Silver Jubilee Commemoration Medal besides the PKV Employees Credit Society’s Cash Prize. In 1996 he acquired Ph.D. from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. He joined the Indian Council of Agricultural Research on November 15, 1996 as a Scientist (Extension) and was posted at the National Research Centre on Oil Palm, Eluru (Andhra Pradesh) and worked there till January 20, 1998.

Since January 21st 1998 he is working at the National Research Centre for Citrus, Nagpur. Dr. Anavrat is a life member of Indian Society of Citriculture (ISC) Nagpur besides the Society for Promotion of Oil–palm Production, Research & Development (SOPOPRAD), Pedavegi (A.P.) and Agricultural Research and Extension Network (AgREN) of the Overseas Development Institute, U.K.
He has to his credit 10 research articles in refereed journals of national and international repute, 2 book chapters, 8 popular articles 1 handbook for citrus growers, 10 radio talks, 1 telecast, 1 book in English entitled “Citrus 1001 question –answers”. His co-authored book “Limbuvargiya Falotpadan” (Marathi) received the “best book” award constituted by Baliraja, Pune. He conducted various introductory visits for the citrus growers, students and officers visiting NRCC, besides imparting on-campus and off-campus farmer trainings. Currently he is engaged in the project on “Assessment of constraints in technology transfer and its adoption in Nagpur mandarin“.
