Indian Society of Citriculture was established in 1983. The Head Quarter of the Society has been shifted from IARI, New Delhi to National Research Centre for Citrus, Nagpur (Maharashtra) in Nov., 1997 to boost its activities and to fulfill the objectives. After its shifts from Delhi the Society has organized one National Symposium on Citriculture in Nov., 1997 and an International Symposium on Citriculture in Nov., 1999. The society is intended to start journal on Citriculture very shortly.

- To promote and advance the study of and research in citrus development with special reference to horticulture and citriculture research development work being done in different countries.
- To promote the development of a sound Citrus Industry in India.
To carry out researches in the above subjects in accordance with accepted modern principles.
- To prepare and publish original works in the above subjects containing the results of study and researches in the above subjects.
- To publish treatise and Journal and other literature relating to the said subjects and fields.
- To establish and maintain libraries relating to the said subjects and allied subjects.
To constitute or cause to be constituted regional offices at convenient Centres in India to promote the activities of the society.
- To organize seminars, exhibitions, lectures, training programmes etc. to promote the development of a sound Citrus Industry in India.
- To do all such things and to perform all such acts as may be necessary or proper for the achievement of any or all the above subjects.
Membership of the society is open to persons actively engaged in citrus research, teaching and extension including the organizations/institutions dealing with citrus and allied subjects related to Citrus Industry of India.

- Patron : An individual who contributes the specified or more amount to the society once.
- Ordinary member : All the persons who are eligible for the individual annual membership and pay their dues annually.
- Life member : All the persons who pay the specified fee for the class of individual life membership. The life membership fee may also be paid through installments within the calendar year)
- Other members : Non profitable educational institutions/Research organizations, NGO’s who become members by paying specified amount once.
- Corporate member : Any company / firm who subscribes for the society only once.
