The Institute
NRCC, Nagpur
       Central Citrus Research Station at Nagpur was initially inaugurated on July 28, 1985 under Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bangalore. It started functioning from November 29, 1985, which was later upgraded to the status of National Research Centre for Citrus on April 1, 1986 to conduct mission-oriented research with the well defined mandate.
Mandate
Top

To undertake basic and applied research to develop technologies for improvement and increased productivity in citrus.
To act as repository for genetic resources and scientific information related to citrus.
To undertake research to develop technologies for better shelf life and utilization of citrus fruits considering domestic and export needs.
To act as a Centre of training in advanced research methodologies and technology up gradation in citrus.
To collaborate with relevant national and international organizations/Govt. agencies for citrus research and technology dissemination.
To provide consultancy services and undertake contract research to solve the problems of Citrus Industry.
